Katrina & Mark’s Wedding Day
Katrina and Mark held their intimate wedding ceremony and reception at a really unique and special venue, Green Moustache in North Sydney. Green Moustache is a beautifully styled rooftop garden bar and restaurant on Miller Street. It’s leafy decoration is somehow vintage yet entirely modern all at the same time.
We met at the venue half an hour before the ceremony, so I could capture shots of the set up and then moments with the couple as the first guests arrived. The ceremony space has a wonderful atmosphere, with lots of daylight pouring in from bay windows.
I often say to couples that a wedding is a piece of family lore. In telling the couple’s story there’s also an opportunity to capture a very meaningful record of the wider family story, which I feel makes for a deeper and more interesting series of photographs.
In this intimate setting it was possible to capture beautiful photographs of friends and family as the day unfolded. Two particular people I would often turn the camera towards were Tori and Alex, Mark’s two daughters. Tori and Alex’ faces really share the essence of some of the most emotional moments of the day.
After a beautiful ceremony officiated by celebrant Beverly we took formal group photos as the champagne flowed. After a cocktail-style food service is was time for some really moving and emotional speeches. Katrina and Mark cut their cake and had their first dance as the DJ got the beats flowing and everyone hit the dance floor!
