Curzon Hall Wedding - Melinda & Wan Hoe’s Story

Melinda & Wan Hoe Before their wedding ceremony at Curzon Hall
Curzon Hall Wedding Marsfield
Melinda & Wan Hoe held a morning ceremony and lunch reception at Curzon Hall in Marsfield, one of Sydney’s loveliest wedding venues. The hall is built with Sydney sandstone and it glows with a soft warm light, perfectly setting off Melinda’s pink hair!
I met the couple before their wedding ceremony so they could do a first-look and then we shot some bridal portraits around the grounds. At Curzon Hall there are so many lovely aspects to the building it’s so easy to work quickly and capture the couple in romantic settings.

Melinda & Wan Hoe held their wedding ceremony at the gazebo on the lawn watched by family and friends. After the ceremony we photographed all the family groups and then some more bridal portraits on the verandah of Curzon Hall.
The reception was in the Agincourt Room, which has tall bay windows and lots of natural light. Melinda is from Singapore and one tradition she brought with her was the Yam Sing. Everybody toasts the couple and then everyone has to keep the cheer going for as long as possible. The longer the cheer, the more good fortune is created for the couple. Anyone who has done a Yam Sing before knows to take as deep a breath as they possible can.
After speeches and the cutting of the cake it was time for the first dance and then the throwing of the bouquet. Then it was time for some dancing.

It was a great experience having Brendan as our wedding photographer. He covered all the important moments and took great shots. The photos were timely received and were everything we expected it to be. He is a lovely and professional photographer who listens to what we want and delivers what he promises.
