Dunbar House Wedding Watson’s Bay - Karen & Kyle’s Story

Karen & Kyle's Wedding at Dunbar House

Karen & Kyle's wedding ceremony under the fig tree at Dunbar House

Dunbar House Wedding Watsons Bay

Karen and Kyle held an afternoon ceremony and evening reception at Dunbar House, in Sydney’s stunning Watsons Bay, a beautiful location.

The couple held their ceremony on the lawn, under the huge Morton Bay fig tree that watches over the house. The ceremony was intimate and deeply heartfelt. The couple included the sand ritual in their ceremony, pouring two colours of sand into a glass vase, the layers symbolising how the couple have intertwined their lives together.

We didn’t have much time for our portraits as the reception had to start soon. I took the couple on a quick tour of some of my favourite spots for portraits, and we had them back at Dunbar House and ready for their reception in under thirty minutes.

The reception styling was exquisite with rich warm tones and lots of orange flowers. The cake table is maybe the most beautiful I’ve ever photographed.

Karen is from Mauritius and the guests were entertained by an incredibly talented Mauritanian dance troupe, who hit the dance floor with the guests and taught everyone some new moves after the couple’s first dance. Needless to say, this took the party to the next level.

“Brendan is an amazing photographer and knew how to capture every moment of the day in a very special way.

Upon seeing my wedding photos, I could relive the day. I’m so happy with what he did for us and would definitely recommend him to my families and friends.”
